“YVUF Announces Scholarship Winners”

David Steelman, Executive Director, announced today the recipients of the Yadkin Valley United Fund Triple C Scholarships for 2017. This is the sixth year the scholarships have been awarded to one senior each at East Wilkes, Elkin, and Starmount High Schools. Triple C stands for “caring” individuals who stay “committed” to giving back to the “communities” of the Yadkin Valley.

Abriella Jarvis was chosen from East Wilkes High School. She is the daughter of Michelle and Jay Jarvis and plans on attending Catawba College. Jackson Carter was chosen from Elkin High School. The YVUF serves the communities of Arlington, Elkin, Jonesville, Mountain Park, Ronda, State Road, Thurmond, and Traphill by providing funding to 25 local non-profit agencies as well as the three scholarships. The 2018 campaign will run from August 15 to November 15, 2017.
